CBD BASICS
CBD is an easy acronym for the natural compound Cannabidiol. CBD is the most widely used Cannabinoid in the Cannabis plant (other than THC). Unlike THC, CBD does not produce any psychoactive effects. This means that it does not get you high.
Instead, CBD offers a variety of other therapeutic properties that are commonly used to help people relax, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality. CBD can be consumed in a variety of ways. Some people prefer to ingest it in edible form, others rub it onto their skin in the form of a topical lotion, and some people prefer to inhale it through a vaporizer.
WHY VAPE CBD?
A vaporizer uses a low-temperature heating coil to “vaporize” the vape liquid (also called “e-juice” or “vape juice”) into an easily inhalable gaseous form. Please note that not all CBD Oil products can be vaped. Similarly, CBD products that are meant to be vaped should not be directly ingested as a liquid.
So why do some people prefer to vape CBD?
Vaping CBD is useful for its fast-acting effects. After inhaling a CBD-infused vapor, a user will typically begin to experience its effects in a matter of minutes. When CBD is ingested sublingually (under the tongue), in edible form, or rubbed onto the skin in a topical lotion it can take much longer to take effect. Another benefit of Vaping CBD is that it allows users to control the dosage of their CBD intake more accurately. If you vape your CBD you will also get the most bang for your buck because vaping CBD has the highest bioavailability among CBD delivery systems.
WHAT IS BIOAVAILABILITY?
Each CBD delivery method has a different level of bioavailability. Bioavailability is the measure of how much CBD can be absorbed into your body. Vaping has the highest bioavailability for CBD, meaning that you get the most out of your CBD. Vaping provides the same effects as CBD capsules, CBD edibles, and CBD oil tinctures. But it requires less product to get the same effect. This makes vaping the most efficient way to consume cannabidiol.
CBD Capsules – 10%
CBD Edibles – 10%
CBD Oil Tinctures – 25%
CBD Vape Oil – 45%
Using this ratio, if a person uses a CBD Oil Tincture and ingests 10 milligrams of it, their body will only be able to absorb about 2.5 milligrams of CBD. This is important when discovering your ideal CBD dosage or switching between CBD delivery methods.
HOW MUCH CBD IS IN MY VAPE CARTRIDGE?
Some companies sell vape cartridges and claim that they contain 500 milligrams of CBD. Most CBD Vape Cartridges hold 500 mg of liquid, but CBD will crystallize and become impossible to vape if it is not diluted to 50% strength. So, it is actually impossible for a CBD company to put 500 mg of CBD in a 500 mg Vape Cartridge. The maximum amount of CBD that can be put into a 500 mg CBD Vape Cartridge is 250 mg.

WHAT ARE CBD VAPE CARTRIDGES?
CBD oil cartridges are usually skinny plastic cylinders. Most of them are pre-filled with CBD vape oil and are disposable once they have been emptied. These cartridges usually have an attached mouthpiece that the user will use to inhale the CBD vapor. CBD vape oil cartridges require an e-cig battery or similar vaping device in order to heat the liquid and vaporize it into a gaseous form to be inhaled. These cartridges typically hold around 500 mg (.5 ml) to 1000 mg (1 ml) of vape juice.
CBD vape products contain CBD extract along with additional ingredients necessary to make the CBD capable of being vaped. The ingredients used in each cartridge will depend on the manufacturer, but every CBD vape cartridge will contain a combination of CBD and a thinning agent.
The most common thinning agents used in CBD vape products are vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol. Vape oil products that contain Vitamin E Acetate are suspected to be causing a majority of vape related illnesses. SMPLSTC CBD products do not contain any Vitamin E Acetate.
HOW TO VAPE CBD
Always begin the process by the user manual for your vape battery or vaping device. If you already know how to vape nicotine, the transition to vaping CBD will be fairly simple.
But, if you are new to vaping altogether, here are some simple tips to get you started:
- Connect your CBD vape cartridge to the battery.
- If the device has a power button, click it 5 times to power it on.
- Hold the button down while inhaling, start gently until you know how hard the device will hit.
- Wait about ten minutes between inhales to see how the CBD will affect you.
- Remember to start slow, you can always increase your dose
